Wine technologist

The art of producing wine and the pleasure of its consumption will remain an eternal value even in our constantly changing world. The applicants will be familiar not only with the secrets of wine production with the help of leading wine makers and experts working in one of the most significant Hungarian wine regions, but they will gain an insight into the sciences and economic issues related to wine growing as well. In addition, the program will provide comprehensive knowledge concerning the thousand year old past and the present of wine culture.

Careers:

Students having obtained their qualification may continue their studies at our college to major in chemistry. One third of the credits received during the post-secondary program can be considered. Entry requirements are included in the annual entrance guide.

Graduates will be able to start and run family businesses, get employment in medium and large companies to perform mid-level managerial tasks.

Focus of the training:

The aim of the program is the training of such experts whose diverse and up-to-date professional background earned in our changing economy enables them to work in the domestic and international wine industry. Graduates will be able to contribute to medium and large size wineries, and family businesses as mid-level managers or in positions which require higher education qualification. Furthermore, the acquired general and specific knowledge will increase the students’chances to continue their studies in BSc and MSc programs.

General information:

  • Name of qualification in the degree: Wine production manager
  • Course length: 2 years/4 semesters/120 credits
  • Language requirements: Ability in technical language communication (English, German or French)
  • Entry requirements: intermediate school-leaving examination in two subjects
