Technical logistic manager assistant

Course description:

Our higher level course is mainly recommended for the attention of those who are interested in jobs which require computer skills, technical and economic knowledge but it does not need any engineering training. In addition, for those who want to get their qualifications at a constantly developing college of a historic town with centuries-old traditions. Today all participants of economy are forced to lay special emphasis on the optimal solution of logistics tasks connected with their work both in production and service. It is important for multinational companies, small and medium-size businesses to employ experts with logistics qualifications, whose interdisciplinary knowledge enables them to solve practical problems in a cost-effective and technologically appropriate way. Our aim is to train experts with such skills, and provide them with practice.

Careers:

In Hungary, due to its favourable situation in Europe, various logistics facilities have been built or being built, handling and managing of which require adequate knowledge of logistics. As a result, there is a wide range of carrier opportunities. Moreover, our graduates with foreign language proficiency can utilise their acquired knowledge in several countries of the European Union. So far a considerable number of our graduates have succeeded in finding an employment.

After getting qualifications the students may continue their studies at our college to major in Program Design and Informatics B.Sc. In this case a part of the credits earned during the vocational training will be considered (at least a quarter, maximum a half).

Focus of the training

Our training consists of the following eight modules. This number, which is higher than usual, refers to the complexity of the course.

  • Administration, office equipment, communication skills
  • Basic marketing and PR knowledge
  • Preparation and organisation of purchase and sale
  • Requirements of storage and transport of hazardous goods
  • Distribution
  • Special tasks of logistics administrators
  • Logistics management, supply-chain management tasks
  • E-logistics tasks

Subjects to be performed during the course serve to cover the above fields. In addition to the high-standard theoretical training, there is a considerable emphasis on solving problems emerging in practice. A profession can thoroughly be learned in practice, so after the second and third semesters students will be supposed to perform a month placement at any firm (even near their homes) with logistics employment or tasks. (e.g. purchase, production management, storage, forwading etc.)

General information:

  • Name of qualification in the degree: Logistics and technological manager assistant, which is one of the branches of ’ Commercial manager assistant’ belonging to a trade group named ’Commerce, marketing, business administration’
  • Course length: 4 semesters (2 years) During the course 120 credits must be received, 15 of which for the degree thesis. The students have 18-20 classes a week. Every year there are full-time and correspondence trainings in state- financed and non-financed forms.
  • The entry procedures are the same as anywhere in higher education. There is no entrance examination, The only condition is a successful school-leaving exam. Language exam is not necessary to obtain a certificate but communicative skills of a technical language are needed. The ideal applicant has a good command of English or German, and basic informatics and technical knowledge.
