Course description
The aim of the programme is the training of experts whose familiarity with the basic aspects of physical and body culture, sports science, education, and health science enable them to work as trainers, sports managers, and physical education teachers. Graduates will develop an adequate theoretical foundation to continue their studies in second cycle M.A. programs.
Careers
Physical education teacher and trainer work is a pedagogical activity to develop personality of children by giving them special knowledge and skills. When enrolling their pupils to competitions teachers can achieve professional successes for themselves and the school as well.
Having obtained the professional trainer degree they can educate world-class sportsmen which is a good opportunity of self-achievement.
Physical education-trainer B.Sc. degree offers various fields of activity: physical teacher assistant and leisure time organiser at schools/ manager, sports recreator, animator, or lifestyle advisor at fitness centres/ trainer, sports organiser or sports manager at sports clubs/ sport supervisor at local governments, etc.
During the trainer course specialised trainer degree of a sport can be obtained. In the M.A program it can be upgraded to a certified specialised trainer degree.
In case opting for physical education teacher course having obtained the B.Sc. degree the candidate can get a physical education teacher degree in second cycle M.A.program in 2 years which can be continued in a Phd course.
Focus of the training
Graduates are commited to healthy lifestyle and development of physical power, the maintenance of a balance between the human and natural environment.
Differenciated professional knowledge makes it possible to specialize in a special field, providing bigger chances to get a job in the respective area. The two areas are physical education teacher and trainer specialisation.
Practical education is supported by various sports camps, attending trainings and schools, brainstorming technics at seminars and projects. Students can join organising various sports events of Karoly Eszterhazy College enrichening this way their practical skills.
General information
- Name of qualification in the degree: Physical Education-Trainer (name of the sport in brackets in case of opting for a specialisation)
- Course length: 3 years, 6 semesters, 180 credits
- Form of study (full-time, correspondence): Full-time and correspondence training
- Language requirements: Intermediate, complex (oral and written) exam
- Entry requirement: Pre-condition: Certificate by a sportsdoctor proving perfect health and fitness on 'Health questionnaire' sent by College is required.
Points coming from secondary school: Maximum 200 points, final exam from physical education is compulsory.
Acquired points: Maximum 200 points (based on results of final exam from physical education and biology or history).
Extra points for sports results: at Olympic Games organised by International Olympic Committee, Chess Olympics organised by FIDE, at Paralympics or Deafolympics since 1984, 20 points for min. 3rd place at World and European Championships, 1O points for min. 3rd place at a national championship.
